Overview
EnableX provides virtual phone numbers that power your Voice and Messaging services. Numbers serve as the origination/termination point for inbound calls, outbound calls, SMS, and messaging campaigns. You can provision numbers through the EnableX Portal or via the Service Administration API.
Local Numbers
Local DID numbers in 100+ countries. Establish local presence without physical offices. Ideal for inbound voice and SMS.
Toll-Free Numbers
Toll-free (800/1800) numbers for customer support. Available in US, UK, India, Singapore, and 30+ countries.
Short Codes
Shared or dedicated short codes for high-volume SMS campaigns. Pre-approved for transactional and promotional messaging.
Mobile Numbers
Mobile-terminated numbers for two-way SMS. Supports keyword-based campaign routing and auto-reply.
How to Order Numbers
Follow these steps to provision phone numbers for your EnableX project:
Step 1: Create a Project
Log in to the EnableX Portal and create a project (or select an existing one). Enable the service you need — Voice, SMS, or both.
Step 2: Navigate to Numbers
Go to Numbers in the left navigation of the portal. You will see options to search, order, and manage your number inventory.
Step 3: Search Available Numbers
Search by:
- Country: Select the country where you need the number.
- Type: Local, Toll-Free, Mobile, or Short Code.
- Capabilities: Voice, SMS, or Voice + SMS.
- Area Code / Prefix: Optional — specify a preferred area code for local numbers.
Step 4: Order the Number
Select your preferred number from the search results and click Order. The number will be provisioned to your project within minutes for most countries. Some countries may require regulatory documentation (address proof, ID) before activation.
Step 5: Configure the Number
After ordering, configure the number for your use case:

Step 6: Verify & Test
Once configured, test the number by placing an inbound call or sending an SMS. Verify that your webhook receives the event payload correctly.

Pricing & Billing
Number pricing depends on the country, type, and capabilities. Charges include:
- Monthly rental: Fixed monthly fee per number.
- Per-use charges: Per-minute for voice, per-segment for SMS (in addition to API usage charges).

Regulatory Requirements
Some countries require documentation before number provisioning:

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to provision a number?
Most numbers are provisioned instantly. Numbers in regulated countries (India, Germany, UAE) may take 2–5 business days after document verification.
Can I port my existing number to EnableX?
Yes, number porting is available in select countries. Contact your account manager for porting requests and timelines.
Can one number handle both Voice and SMS?
Yes, if the number supports both capabilities. Check the capabilities column when searching for numbers.
How many numbers can I order?
There is no hard limit. Enterprise customers can provision thousands of numbers. For bulk orders (100+), contact sales for volume pricing.
